Catch Up Vaccination Clinic - Years 7 & 10

Dear Parents & Carers,

As provided in prior College newsletters and Compass communication to parents, this is a friendly reminder that we will be hosting the final free vaccinations clinic for Year 7 students this coming  Wednesday, 11th September. This clinic is for students who didn't get the opportunity to do so earlier in the year.

Vaccinations for Year 7 students include:

  • Gardasil (HPV) 1 Dose Only
  • Boostrix (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis-whooping cough) 1 dose only

Vaccinations for Year 10 students include:

  • Nimenrix (Meningococcal ACWY) Vaccination - 1 dose only

Consent is due before Tuesday, 10th September and parents are reminded that consent must be provided by parents/guardians for students to receive free vaccinations at school via the online consent portal: https://nexus.health.nsw.gov.au/ 

Hard copy consent forms can be provided to families from the College Office upon request.

Any students who are absent for this clinic or do not receive consent by the cut-off will need to organise a catch-up vaccination with their Local GP.

FREE Parent Workshop - Approaching the Teenage Years

McAuley Catholic College invites Parents and Carers to a very insightful Parent Workshop in partnership with the Catholic Schools Office of the Lismore Diocese

Don't miss this amazing opportunity to learn more about parenting teens in the complex world they are growing up in. Chris Hudson, a highly regarded teen parenting coach will present  "Approaching the Teenage Years" at The Grafton District Service Club on Monday 16th September at 6pm. We hope that all parents of tweens and teens in our Catholic schools in the local area make time to come along to this informative and engaging session.You'll leave with great information and practical tips and strategies to help you help your young person thrive.

HSC Showcase Evening

Dear Parents, Carers & Students,
 
We invite you to attend our upcoming Year 12 Students' HSC Major Work Showcase Evening being held at the College next Wednesday, 4th September 2024.

This event will feature student works from Design & Technology, Industrial Technology (Timber), Visual Arts, Drama, Music & Dance. We invite you to join us and be inspired by the ingenuity, and innovation of our creative students.

4:00pm               Timber, Art and Textiles major works on display in the Library, L4 & L7

Come along and appreciate the wonderful accomplishments of these students.

Father's Day Breakfast 2024

McAuley Fathers, Grandfathers, and Carers are invited to a Father's Day Breakfast on Thursday, 29th August, from 7.45 to 8.40 a.m. at Catherine's Cafe (near the College Hall). Please come along (with your child/children) and enjoy a light snack of bacon & egg rolls and various fruits with tea or coffee.

This closure is due to staff attending our Term 3 Staff Development Day.

NAIDOC Day Assembly

Dear Parents, Carers, and Families,

McAuley Catholic College invites you to attend our NAIDOC Day Assembly at 10am on Thursday, 4th July. The Assembly will feature a performance from our Aboriginal Dance Group with a light morning tea for Elders and families to follow shortly after.

The day will finish with our Annual Rachel Johnson Memorial Touch Football game.

Staff Development Day - School Closed 30th May 2024

Dear Parents & Carers,

Please be advised that on the Thursday 30th of May, McAuley College will be closed to all students.

This closure is due to our dedicated staff attending the Proclaim Staff Day in Coffs Harbour.
